Layered potato casserole, as I do it, as we like it

Layered potato is a Hungarian culinary classic that is quick, tasty and not difficult to make.

Ingredients for 4:

- About 10 medium-sized potatoes
- 6 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 stick of Hungarian mild dry sausage. I buy it at the Kitchener Farmers Market, at the Hungarian Blue Danube Sausage or it is available at any European delicatessen.
- grated cheese
- sour cream (about 1-2 cups)
- salt and pepper

The first step and it is always the first step to wash potatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cook whole potatoes without pealing them for 40 minutes or until just tender.
While potatoes are cooking, cook the eggs for 9 minutes. You need them hard-boiled. I always cook them for 9 minutes from boiling. Then slice the sausage up.
When potatoes are done, drain and cool them, then peel them and slice them up.

Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F). Use a casserole dish, buttered it (9 X 13 in) and layers the ingredients as follows:

1. thin sliced potatoes (2-3)
2. half of the sausage
3. 3 sliced eggs
Salt and pepper and a layer of the sour cream. Repeat it, a thin layer of sour cream again, and  sprinkled with grated cheese.

Bake it for 35-40 minutes.
